  I see you're from Missouri.... I'm from Southern California, ground ZERO for the "invasion" (whether you like the word or not). We've had migrants for decades, however, it's only been the past 20 years since we've stop controlling the borders that we're having a social meltdown here. Long waits in emergency rooms, hospitals closing, overcrowded schools. tough criminals who don't get deported because it's not PC. Controlling ones border anywhere is paramount to a country sustaining itself - Europe does it, and so, by the way does MEXICO - they have one of the strictist enforcements around (ask any Guatamalan). You have NO idea what's going on, until you have to live here. A few weeks ago, a grandmother was gunned down a few miles from where I live by an illegal. She was a Mexican-American, who's family has lived here for generations. Why was she killed? She saw some 'taggers' spray painting a wall in her neighborhood, so she blinked her car lights....for that she was killed. Ask her Mexican-American family what they think about the "invasion" .... you won't get anyone to call them racists.

  in ancient times god was very anthropomorphic.

  he walked in the garden "in the breezy part of the day".. he talked to man.. he was suprised by events.

  he asked questions as though he needed information.. he was emotional and spontaneous.

  The Disappearance of God is a function of the gradual sophistication of man's intellect.

  Sounds like the same assertion for the past couple of hundred years - Why then hasn't God completely faded?

  Religion remains because of the strong and inveterate attachment we have emotionally to the bonding of childhood when anything was possible.

  Then why do some people "find" God when they're adults and educated?.... (something tangible is going on)

  Santa and God are only kept alive when we replay the entire scenario for our children and vicariously experience the wonder and miracle of fantasy through them.

  hmmm, apples and oranges..... I do believe that most adults do not still believe in Santa Claus - however, a real belief in God can only be sustained when one has had a genuine experience with the Creator.

  where have all the tile-setters gone? anyone in construction in BC?

  have you noticed, since leaving, that there's a whole network that's gone missing?.

  where you could easily find a tile-setter, dry-waller, painter, house for sale/rent, job... while in the org., now these things are harder to come by?.

  i just want to build a house!.

  Great letter.... here's a few corrections:

  So you want to herehear from me ..... Your You're my parents! ......I grew up with you too, playing games......

  As you know, these teenage years .... has been off of center. ........ to find my groove, my niche, as it where were, in this meddled (muddled?) thing called life.

  ... And I must say i do respect my heritage so donutdon't get me wrong but listen to what I'm trying to say. ........I know you believe wholeheartedly in your heart that your you're doing the best for me.

  . I SO BADLY WISH that they were true but i can convince myself rationally that they are anymorenothing more than just a pipe dream, a fairy tale thousands of years in the making.

  debating with my parents about doctrine is like trying to wrestle a greased eel.

  we were talking about how i feel about the religion and since i'm only starting my fade i didn't mention anything too blatant.

  i just told her i was having a real problem with 1914 and 607. i told her i haven't been able to find one secular source that says jerusalem was destroyed in 607, but that they all say 586.

  This is what makes arguing with them frustrating. You could prove every JW doctrine wrong, and they'd still be witnesses.

  Isn't that the reasoning that JW's tell themselves when they knock on doors, spend an hour explaining why someone's religion is wrong only to walk away frustrated. So what's different. (maybe your parents can try to answer that... in other word, other's believe their "truth" just as adamently.)

  Need Everybody's Help!!

  ok - i've placed myself in a make or break situation.

  i don't post a lot so you may not be familiar with me, but feel free to read my initial post on my situation.

  a little has changed - i've now not turned in a service report the last two months (june and july) - first time in 25+ years, it feels great!

  Her reply basically is would you want to raise them as a JW? And before i can say anything she says - think how we turned out, pretty good right? i mean we are moral, don't smoke, lead good lives etc... So this gives me a quick easy answer - YES I would want to raise them like that - to be moral, and good, and lead Christian lives.

  There are millions living on this earth who can say the same thing, and are now raising their kids that way, AND they're not JWs. (just a thought)

  everyone neatly and orderly forms a line for the parachutes, and you remember your etiquette and don't rush, panic, push, shove or shout.

  the circumstances so happen that there are exactly twice as many passengers as parachutes, and the person directly in front of you is in line for the last one.

  excellence in behavior and outcome derive from the standard.. judgement= applying the standard to actions according to the correctness or incorrectness .
